Katie is the latest addition to our team her Another Studio! As Operations Coordinator - she brings a lot of organisation and efficiency to the team. She works closely with Aimee - keeping the business side of things in check!
Katie is a lovely and valued addition to our team - not to mention an even better baker! Since she joined us, we’ve had the pleasure of sampling her sweet treats; from cupcakes to cinnamon buns - all completely vegan, which we think is even more impressive! Surprisingly, Stanley is yet to try these goodies…
We sat down with Katie to find out how she’s finding being part of the AS team and what she gets up to out of studio hours!
What is your favourite part of working here?
Other than Stanley? I’d have to say working in such a supportive environment around inspiringly creative women.
Do you have a favourite product?
I am a huge terrarium fan so the mini models are up there but I’d have to say the mini mushrooms. As a vegan, I eat my way through a lot of them and they are all beautiful and unique, as evidenced here.
If you were a Plant Animal, who would you be and why?
Probably a dog, I’m food oriented, loyal and enjoy going out for walks. See also head rubs.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
Eating out or experimenting in the kitchen, I especially love cooking foods I’ve never tried before, it’s rare I make the same thing twice. I can geek out for hours about food and restaurants. I found some fresh pandan leaves for sale the other day and am yet to convince anyone to be as excited as me about it.
Do you have any pet peeves?
So many but for starters people who give their bags their own bus seat during rush hour, people who stop randomly in the middle of the pavement, people who try and make me choose between cats and dogs.
What never fails to put a smile on your face?
I love being out in nature, especially around trees. The Bornean rainforest was the most amazing place I’ve ever been and I have about 1000 photos of leaves on my phone to prove it. Working in an office like this full of plants is a dream!
Tell us your favourite thing about living in London?
I was born here and have tried moving away but I always come back, there’s just never a dull moment in London. Whether I’m getting dressed as an Ewok for Secret Cinema, riding to a secret location for a Gingerline supper club, hanging from a crane eating my dinner in the sky or doing my asanas at puppy yoga there’s always an adventure to be had.
