Meet the team - Bette!

Meet the team - Bette!

Driven, focused and compassionate, Bette is our busy bee Studio Manager.

She deals with order fulfillment, customer service and delivery carriers….. Including handling the fiasco that is Brexit, which has certainly made her job harder.

This is why we always make sure we’re stocked up on hobnobs, it’s the least we can do because she always makes sure everyone has what they need (I don't think we’ve ever run out of supplies, ever, because she's so organised!)

Bette is also super on top of doing our bit for the environment - making sure boxes & packing materials are all rescued, coffee & tea bags are composted. And our packaging for our customer orders is always from responsible sources.

We sat down with her to learn a little more about her role, and what she likes to do when she's not at AS!

What attracted you to this role?

I wanted to gain experience working in the creative industry, and was drawn to AS as it is a small, female led company, with lots of opportunity for growth.

What is your favourite part of working here?

I love my team!

What is your favourite plant?

Satin Pothos (Epipremnum pictum Argyraeus) - I love it’s growth habit, and the silvery sheen of its leaves.

What is your favourite Another Studio product?

Our mini models are my favourite, as not only are they pretty but you get to make something too.

Which Plant Animal would you say you relate to the most?

The Lemur - he's so cheeky!

What's your top office snack?

Chocolate hobnob dipped in milky coffee

Now we asked Bette about what she likes getting up to when shes not at Another Studio.

What is something exciting you’re doing right now?

I am currently learning how to make ceramics.

What are you listening to right now?

At work - probably a podcast  - especially something dramatic about politics/true crime

At home - I am loving Deerhoof - ‘Actually You Can’ which came out this year.

What’s your top thing to do in London?

Go for a walk in one of our many beautiful parks and gardens - Kew being my favourite!

What skill do you think everyone should learn?

Everyone should learn some kind of craft. That could be drawing, sewing, knitting, or even cooking or gardening. Just as long as you are making something from scratch - because it's important to have creativity in your life, however big or small.

And finally, what makes you smile?

Puppies, babies being cute, seedlings poking through soil, a really good dinner, a cold pint of lager.
